Amanda picked up one of the Aldi phones and SIM cards for herself today. Great, except that no-one at the call centre on the number given can help her set it up. They guy she spoke to said "Sorry I've only just been trained for this and I don't know.".......

Damn.... I was told it's pretty straight forward to set up.
Did she ask to speak to the supervisor or manager????

Apparently according to him no-one else available at the time for her to talk to. It seems like an okay phone for $149 but you can tell it's not in the league of a Samsung, HTC, iPhone etc etc. Slightly smaller H x W, and slightly smaller screen than my Samsung GS2 but thicker in depth. Buttons for power on/off and volume are a little tricky to use with man-fingers. She managed to activate or register the SIM card but she doesn't know yet if her ph. number has been changed over or even if she bought the right SIM card for the prepaid plan she wants (if there's a difference?). Apparently that is still to be sorted after the SIM card comes on line in a couple of days. Real test will be to see how the signal-strength and data speed is around this area. If it's okay here it should be good in the capital cities.
