Quite a few years ago I started getting numb and or tingly fingers. It was pretty bad where using them to play guitar felt like a thousand needles being tapped on the tips. Not good when you cant even feel how hard your pushing on the strings.
I started using anti vibe gloves which over time seemed to work and my fingers came good. I stopped wearing the glove.
A year or so later the tingling, while no where near as bad, came back so the glove went back on. Manageable for sure but annoying. Cold, tingly hand/fingers.
If youve seen my mowing vids you'll notice Im wearing a glove in practically all of them.

Went to see a Dr about it and he referred me to a neurologist to get the nerves tested. Straight away he was like yep, knew what it was before he even ran the test. He did anyway to confirm...

    Ulnar nerve entrapment.....http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00069

That makes me grumpy but thats not even the worst of it! Steroid injections into the elbow! Faaaaaaaaaaaaaark! That REALLY made me grumpy and Im still grumpy 11hrs later!

Point is, if you feel numbness in the ring and little finger then you most likely have the same problem. It wasnt the vibrations (well not this time anyway) but holding the lever on the ztr and using the trimmers. Both meant keeping the elbows bent for long periods of time!

    Its elbow carpal tunnel!

I've read about it done before within here what I did. Well I too can be added to the listed of that exclusive club.

Did some detailed maintenance work on some machinery late yesterday arvo till darkness. Including Blades, Blade Brake and SP Gear adjustments and the usual oils/air filters.

First job today was a random one off biggish hedge in a hill side address that I do a few house within the court and one as high end regular.

Finished that and move a street away where I have another three regulars. Though Ok, house "B" needs doing again.
Humm why is the grass congesting/compacting up around the front right wheel and flicking about.

Yep, you know what I'd done, I often mulch this lawn, so out I got the Victa 560 Mulchmaster and completed the job with that and spread a couple of areas Galah effected with the Magnum 600.
Got home fixed the problem and continued on mowing very close to home now with the catcher bag filling this time.
Sheeish, Dementia is already kicking in.
I'm sick of hearing all you old blokes complaining about your problems.........ummmm whats your name???????? ohhh bugger it I've forgotten what I was talking about.

Bloody tip on my expensive Crucis surf rod snapped today. Not friggen happy considering how much it cost and how long I've had it. Just put a new reel on layby to go with it too. Might have to go back to doing my own rod repairs to make sure its done right.

That is awesome. I haven't fished for them in the surf but I've seen and hooked a few soapies in my local waterway. There is some absolute monsters in there too . I know a bloke from a tv show that has been spooled a couple of times while fishing for them in the same waters.

Putting a brand new $30 vbelt on to the cutter deck last night between keeping wife happy and getting kids to bed. This morning i test it out, get it started, engage cutter, hmmm something feels odd like its not engaging, then vibration, smoke and burning rubber smell as the blades pick up speed. WTF? Have a look at the belt and its shredded. What I'd done is put the belt guides at the front pulley on the inside of the belt not the outside. I am impressed with my stupidity as I've changed the belt a few times without having made this mistake. Surprisingly once I put the guides in the right place the belt still works, hopefully it'll get me thru while I find another one. Ah fun and games. A special mention to cox who have made those bolts on that pulley in such a way that you skin you knuckles or jam your fingers every time you loosen or tighten them.

Its not only Cox, Hustler also do it as well as a few other manufactures. They all work on the fact you are going to have a hoist to work on the machinery and also the special service tools LOL

Still not as bad as cars though. How they fit all that technology, gizmos, electronics and engine turbos etc under smaller and smaller hoods is incredible and a nightmare at the same time.

Add to it the number of gizmos / devices / contraptions these days that are stuck together / assembled with adhesive or some sort of plastic or laser welding with the intent that you are not meant or able to disassemble for repair when some trivial internal part fails. .....
Prime example ... most 'tablet' computer and many smart phones have the screen bonded to the case by adhesive --
