Thanks Dean But I might have to have a look at bunnings. My daughter just told me I would have to go to keysbourough or fountain gate which I wont have time for tomorrow. Would be nice if this could have happened when I've got an easy week or a quite day. Merfies law.

does it only cut out when you press throttle on full quickly.. or will it run if u gently increase revs? if so try adjusting low speed richer.
does really sound like blocked spark arrestor or filter.. does it have a tank vent? maybe try with lid open
or u may need to actually replace carby gaskets / diaphragms
when you cleaned carby did you remove the adjustment screws to get any gunk outta there? and are they back in the correct holes? is the high speed screwed in too far?

Glenn, this prob is really frustrating many of us.
Keep at it,(in your own time) you need to fix it & we need to know what the prob was.
    You know what I mean
    Cheers Fred.

lol , yes there is nothing more frustrating that fixing something only to realise that its not fixed! especially when you pull apart a carby!
and even someone mentioning the issue is frustrating! haha

your inlet needle valve could be adjusted wrong as the arm tends to bend easily and usually does over time or even the diaphrams (gaskets) need replacing not pumping enough fuel.
is the muffler blocked or the fire screen blocked, this can cause these symptoms
fuel filter in the tank need replacing as its blocked??
    Does she have compression??
I would think its the diaprams.

    Glen,

When you cleaned the lines did you check for leaks in the lines, if it sucking air then these symptons will happen. My Echo blower did the exact same thing and it was the fuel pick up line had a pin hole, after I had cleaned everything first BUGGER

Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

there's a line I could use about the original problem being inability to blow. But I'm too much of a lady to mention it.
