Did you get it on a plan or buy outright? I'm still looking at the Aldi/Telstra prepaid deal but would either have to get this old phone unlocked from Vodafail/Crazy Johns or get another one.
bought it from hong kong, heaps cheaper - never bought a phone attached to a plan, never will....with your own phone there's no contract, leave whenever you like, at least with my provider, http://www.southernphone.com.au/index.php

Yep I got a mate on the South Coast who loves his Southern Phone, got the $4,000. account for $59.00 per month, used to have Telstra but was always going over his $100. per month contract. Only has a mobile no home phone. If I was not going travelling and lived in a major area I would get this deal to. It's serviced by Optus, not much good out here though, have to have Telstra out here
I think Southernphone use both carriers David, might be worth ringing them 13 14 64

Good one Red LOL (same here can't stand the man)
I had issues recharging my account for Boost to, forgot to read the fine print though. It states you must be on the Telstra network not on your WIFI network before you can recharge. I turned my WIFI system off at home and was able to recharge straight away. This was after I had spent 10 minutes trying and a couple of phone calls to Boost, they did not even tell me that I had to be on Telstra Network not my home WIFI. We have had no other problems with it except remembering to recharge, but Boost send you a reminder 3 days before you are due to run out of credit, so very easy to use and great value as well.
