Your safety Managment plan wouldn't cover fire ants. A safety management plan is a controlling document, it's roll is to have a broard focus on safety and procedures for the whole business. A safe work method statement or alike would be your mechanism for controlling fire ant related safety issues.

The management plan guides you to the tools and procedures needed when doing SWMS, risk assessments, ect

Have a look at this site:

    https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/plants/we...ants/fire-ants

The recommended action is to report the Fire Ants for the Council to control them

Got a big commercial contract worth $25k per year I’ve had for 3 years. Just put in tender/quote for another 3 and they have requested to be WH&S accredited which luckily I am via LMCOA.

Looks like it starting to be pre requisite for these types of contracts and especially now with COVID way of life. Very cheap investment for $75k worth work for the next 3 years..

Highly recommend to invest in if you haven’t already... Cowboys are on the way out..!
