    Default Lawns in winter

I have been mowing a lawn for the last six months - cooch lawn - which never grew real quick so pretty easy lawn to mow - customer likes it short also - no.3 on a rover self propelled is digging dirt and his lawn is done on level 4. Winter arrives and lawn stops growing pretty well only he insists on every 2 weeks still - you need a pocketful of 5cent pieces to drop at each strip to know where you're up to. I tried to put him off for a week so as to get a bit of growth and he mowed half the lawn himself. An hour of mowing and 3/4 catcher full of grass no kidding. He isn't lonely and leaves me alone to mow the lawn so thats ok ( he doesn't want me to fertilise etc cause he reckons it will grow too quick) Anyone else got any clients like this and with a sp 560rover what level do you guys mow at (curiosity)

i have a client that i do weekly i had to talk him into 2 weekly in winter if they insist just keep going and hope they don't move
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

I've got a few couch lawns that want it so short I started using a Scott bonnar reel mower on them.
Now I can cut them as often as they want, they look great with the stripes and at the least they get a good roll to flatten them out...

I have a customer like that and I think maybe these kind of people have a disorder,, they are super fussy my wife has a mild case lol things must be in a certain order and everything in its place. I come home for lunch and sometimes just for fun I swap the king with the queen on the chess set on the coffee table she notices every time lol

Yep. Always push the fertiliser in April. Get those lawns green and mowable through winter. Same with the gardens. Good fert now so there's trimming work down the track
