My old boss charges around $80/acre for his 60" zero turn. We used to walk around with a mesauring wheel to work out size. That was for school mowing.

What to charge? As much as the market will bear...that is, as much as you can squeeze out of the customer!

i think your best of charging what is right for you per her only then will you cover your cost and really make money out of it after all whats the point of buying such a expensive rideon if your cant make money out of it. i charge i diffrent prices on my 42 inc husltler min 70 per hr but then i add in the time it takes to get out there and how hard the propty will be on the mower. if its a sand block u will go trough blades very fast.

I agree with charge what ia right for you, Although i have a minimum hire charge try and stay away from the hourly hire and just quote on the job this will depend on the machine you have, for example i run a 61 inch scag turf tiger a very fast and powerful machine I can mow 5 acres on a regular basis in under 2 hours charge for this is $220 but if its more difficult i add what i think it will take me at $100 per hour.

How many acres per hour are you guys typically able to mow with your 54 - 60inch zero turn machines?

I know a walker mower with a 48" cut mows an oval which is 1.1Ha in 1.5 hours.

    I have a 32inch cox. Mows a footy oval in 1hr 40mins.
Considering it only does 8kph I'm guessing the 54inch Hustler I'm looking at would do it in about 30 mins??
