Yes, we all were very close.. Me just a couple of MUP's!!!..you can add on a few more than that..hehehe... So George became a Leut, I am very proud that he made it to officer.. Well after I left the navy, I have done quite alot.. Been oversea's a few times, had a few jobs but I have now settled down in the bush working in grain and sheep grazing country.. I have never been married nor have I had any chidren (at least what I know about..lol..).. I have met a lovely lady and am trying to work out how to get her here to Australia.. I have looked at the immigration website, but it's all higglety pigglty to me how to understand it.. Looking forward to having drinks and having yarns with you mate.. Tony.... |

Hello guys
I am a "ring in" from 28th intake and at the invitation of Graham have joined your Forum for interest among other things. We also have a website and forum and I am the admin/moderator and chief bottle washer. I invite you to eyeball my site (yes I am financing it) so I call it mine even though it's for all the boys who joined with me. I know from experience of assisting in the trackdown of boys for the 2004 HMAS Darwin commissioning crew reunion how much work goes into it and also organising the reunion activities. Anything you remember may help so I would advise posting it here. I have heard rumours and have family members not even knowing the whereabouts of their siblings and have firstly found them and reunited all concerned. I even have one friend from sea cadet days living in Poland trying to track down a "playboy" in the european circuit. Some of the stories... Hello to Wayne Blackmuir (Stalwart CPO's mess 1988) now an officer I believe and BC Klimeck (cabin mates Harman 1976) paid off as a Supply Officer. __________________________________________________ _______ For information of members and for those responsible for tracking down your troops I have listed some sites you may not be aware of. These are in addition to what is currently showing in our site Links. WEB sites: Pussers Electricians - Our Mission To initially collect contact information on as many Pussers Greenies and ex-Greenies as possible for the purpose of having a convenient database of details to enable us to easily disseminate information about our planned reunion http://www.pussersgreenies.org/ Skilled Hands for ALL ex-Naval Artificer Apprentices, (MOBI's/ Muppets), Phasies, Mechanicians, Direct Entry Tradespeople, etc., along with all the Support Staff, Instructors, Officers, Ship's Company and 'Friends' http://www.ran-skilledhands.org/RAN_...come_Page.html The Royal Australian Navy Writers Branch Association Inc http://www.ranwriters.com/ Submarines Association Australia A social organisation open to all submariners, regardless of the Navy in which they served. http://www.submarinesaustralia.com/ RAN Clearance Divers Association http://www.rancba.org.au/ or http://www.rancd-association.com/ Fleet Air Arm Association of Australia http://www.faaaa.asn.au/links/index.htm Royal Australian Navy Storbies Reunion http://ranstorbies.dreamstation.com/ Navyphots is an unoffical website dedicated to those Australian men and women who have served their country as Royal Australian Navy photographers. http://navyphots.com/ Coxswains and docky coppers www.navalpolice.com/

To whomever is doing the search...
I have just revisited schoolfriends at: http://www.schoolfriends.com.au/ looking for any new information of my intake and noticed several names with 1974-75 alongside the names. Have you guys had a "bopeep" there for lost souls at all ![]() __________________________________________________ _______ I also received this information from the Greenies website. Hint 1: A search of the National Archives web site either as a registered searcher (registration is free) or a guest, may bring up the person you're searching for and give you their Official Number, DOB and place of enlistment. Unfortunately, no other information is available from the NAA site, but at least the information that is available would be a starting point. Also maybe worth a visit to the Australian Electoral Office where at no cost you can search the alpha microfiche State by State & Territory. My next stage Take a pen and paper in the event you find several matches for the name and follow them up either by telephone or post for those aren't listed in whitepages. Hint 2: Check the Greenies Email listings first, before making an entry, to see if the person you're searching for is already on our lists. If you are not registered yourself, you can register here and then make your search in a day or so. Hint 3: If you know the area/location where the person resides, please check the Telstra White pages , before making an entry here as this may give you his/her address and phone number if it's not a silent number.

But if you want to write to anyone offsite eg email, go to this site which has everyones email address's.. http://www.walton-collins-48th.com/R..._for_Duty.html Everyone has been given an email address for contact.. It has been done this way for our security reasons.. Say if you use my email address that has been given on that site ( mcdonald@walton-collins-48th.com ), it directs it straight to my everyday use email address.. (as you already know) I hope that I have explained it clearly for you Jake.. Goodluck Jake..
