    Default Stihl kombi my hedge trimmer attachment not working

    Hi all, my hedge trimmer attachment goes slightly then just stops, also my weed eater attachment, isn't running well either and unusable, any ideas please.

    Be either the clutch or the splines worn on the shaft (or the coupling). Usually its the splines on the shaft, pretty easy fix........l'm assuming stihl are the same as most other brands

    Yeah, what Redeye said.
    If it's the shaft/coupling, you'd probably feel vibration and hear noises. If it's the clutch, you prob won't feel that. Sometimes it's just a spring in the clutch.

    If you're running genuine Stihl attachments (?) I agree with the others. The only other part I've had wear out on the hedge trimmer attachment is where the shaft goes into the gearbox on the hedger.

    But if you're running cheaper attachments, they're made for home owners. They're not meant for contractors & can fail quickly with the amount of work we give them.
